Ohhh, there’s been a few! EYFS love ‘Supertato’ and enjoy the chance to dress up as superheroes themselves. Year 2 loved ‘Traction Man’, making their own 3D models of scenes from the book. However, my all-time favourite moment was sharing ‘Scaredy Squirrel/Scaredy Squirrel Makes a Friend’ with the class. I assume my enthusiasm and love for the story spread when, a few days later, one child came in with ‘Scaredy Squirrel at the Beach’ which they had found at a local library! I’m not sure who was more excited to read the next thrilling story…

In Y6 we love The Proudest Blue which is all about being proud of wearing the hijab. The kids loved learning about why people wear hijabs and how they make people feel special!

All of the Max books by Ed Vere go down a storm when I do story sessions in our school library but particularly Max at Night – the children love it when Max gets to the top of the mountain and shouts ‘Moooooooon!’ It sounds great when you give Max a Scottish accent too!

My class love ‘Letters from the Lighthouse’ by Emmma Carroll!

Our Y4 class have loved ‘The Mole who knew it was non of his business’ , ‘Until I met Dudley’ and ‘Here we are’. We are so fortunate to have the chance to experience such diverse and thoroughly enjoyable pieces of literature. 🤞 for this amazing opportunity.
