Good Wives and Warriors
About the book
This book is a work of art and full of mystical creatures. Some you may have heard of such as the Pegasus from Greek mythology. There are others less well known from all over the world such as the Rainbow Serpent from Aboriginal mythology. There are also stories contained within. This would make an amazing gift.
About the Book
From the West African fable of Anansi the Spider, to Michabo, the magical hare who rebuilt the world and Tanuki, the sweet but troublesome racoon-dog of Japanese folklore, Mythopedia is an encyclopedia of mythical creatures that covers legends, tales and myths from around the world. Lovingly created by the illustration duo behind popular flipbook Myth Match, Good Wives and Warriors, this book contains pages upon pages of cultural folklore from around the world. Let these weird and wonderful creatures spark your child's imagination for their own storytelling and drawing while teaching them about international cultures.
As a long time lover of mythical beasts, this is the book I wish I'd had as a child. With a rich mix of different cultures included, this is a beautiful way to introduce children to diverse beliefs, helpfully divided up by continent. The text is easily accessible and contains pertinent context and the illustrations are absolutely breath taking. This is easily one of the most gorgeous books we own and it will definitely ignite the imagination. It's perfect.
